This is a hearty and comforting Greek classic. It's made up of layered seasoned beef, eggplant, and a creamy béchamel sauce. The meat is cooked with tomatoes, onions, garlic and various spices. Then, the sliced eggplant is sautéed and layered with the meat mixture in a baking dish. Finally, a velvety béchamel is poured over the top and sent off to bake until the eggplant is tender and the sauce is hot and bubbly.

MICROWAVE: Remove the lid and place it loosely on the container. Place on a microwaveable plate. Heat on full power(950W) for 4-6 minutes.

OVEN: Preheat oven to 180°C (Gas Mark 5). Remove the lid and any outer packaging. Place on a baking tray at the top of the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes or until piping hot. Stand for 1 minute before serving

Meet Gokce

The Iskele

I was born in Turkey and grew up in Izmir, where hundreds of types of edible herbs grow in nature. I started cooking various mezes from these herbs with homemade olive oil when I was young. I have always loved the culinary arts and I decided to go to a culinary school to follow my dream. Now, I find myself immersed in the vibrant energy of kitchens, creating recipes for myself, my friends and for you too.

Great taste

Large portion just what I needed today. Cooked in microwave for 6 minutes and added Parmesan on top. Sadly this portion was very greasy.

Yummy

This is my first dish from Gokce and I’m definitely ordering more! The flavour takes me back to my holidays in Greece.

Not quite like a Moussaka I'm used to

The dish had a good texture and was a good portion size.
It didn't deliver in flavour and I didn't think it worked with the beef mince. I was expecting it to be made with lamb. Disappointing.

A bit dry

Small portions and a bit dry. Wouldn’t get this again I am afraid
