Apple Tarte Tatin

The art of the tarte is something to behold and this one's something special. Tangy, sweet, sticky apples in a dark caramelised sugar sauce with buttery pastry top, we don't need to say much more. A scoop of ice-cream to finish this off and we're not sure life gets much better!

The pastry was like a cracker after cooking from frozen and the taste was lacking

Very tasty with perfect caramelisation but I get my food chilled and this would have been better cooked from frozen. Sauce very watery and packaging had leaked so not enough sauce left.

Good taste

Delicious, but I accidentally defrosted it and so the caramel was watery. Will order again if available .

Agree with Anne’s review. Some adjustments are needed for the sauce. Can’t pin point the issues but the sauce seems off, a bit sour and bunt maybe. Loved the big pieces of apple but could barely taste them.

Love the whole apple chunks and the crispy buttery pastry top. Cooked to perfection in oven.
Didn't like thin burnt tasting caramel, too much dark brown sugar which also overpowered the apple's natural flavour. Ate enough to give a fair taste test but didn't want to eat rest.
My preference would be to half the sugar content in the caramel and let the apples speak for themselves.
