I did not know this dish and took a chance.
I am glad I did, it was probably the best dish I had so far.

More Liver Today

Better this week. I really love this dish but I do wish I could experience it cooked fresh as sadly the cook / freeze / thaw & reheat process doesn’t help the texture of the liver. The fresh leaves don’t survive either!

Lacking Liver

Bit disappointed with this months Kaleji as there was very little liver and what there was cut so small that it was a bit overcooked. Otherwise the meal was up to standard and a bit spicy as I Iike it😂

Worth trying for the difference

Tasty , definitely a meat lovers dish. Plenty of beef and the liver made an unusual difference. More like a medium curry than lightly spiced. A generous potion, one regular would have been enough for my husband and myself when served with rice and a side salad.

Definite Regular Meal

Enjoyed this for a second time and pleased to say I’m still a fan; a couple of the liver pieces had a bit of tubing left which was a bit unpleasant so I’m hoping attention to the trimming of the liver won’t get overlooked as this dish becomes more popular as I’m sure it will. I like that we can cook our own rice And this time I made courgette basmati which nicely moderated the spicy nature of the dish. I think a lot of the dishes on Homecooks should just sell the meat / sauce and leave the customer to provide their own rice as frozen / thawed and reheated rice provided in cardboard packaging is problematic at best. Will be getting this regularly….
